New Build Drying for Christchurch House Builders
We work alongside your site foreman to plan drying windows around your programme — no schedule slips, no callbacks for warped flooring or peeling paint.
Wet trades pile moisture into your build long before lock-up. Slab water of crystallisation, fresh plaster, paint, screed and damp framing all need to be down to spec before lining, flooring and painting. We deploy commercial-grade dehumidifiers, air movers and heat to drive moisture out fast, so your next trade is never the one waiting on the building to dry.
- Slab, framing, plaster, insulation and screed drying
- Site-survey programme tied to your build sequence
- BRANZ-aligned moisture verification before each trade
- Daily moisture logs handed to your QS / site manager
- Three-phase power options for high-output dehumidification
How we work
Our new build drying process
1. Pre-start site walk
We meet your site foreman, scope the wet trades and book drying windows into the build programme.
2. Equipment plan
Right-sized LGR + desiccant dehumidifiers, air movers and indirect heat scoped to the cubic volume.
3. Drying & monitoring
Daily on-site checks with calibrated meters and data-logger trace of RH and grain depression.
4. Trade-ready sign-off
Written confirmation when each substrate hits target spec — slab RH, timber WME, plaster moisture.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How early in the build should we book you in?
Ideally before slab pour. Booking early lets us slot drying windows between your wet trades — far cheaper than emergency drying once a trade is held up.
Can you dry a build during a Canterbury winter?
Yes — winter is when most of our work happens. Cold, damp air can't dry materials passively, so closed-up drying with desiccants is the only way to keep the programme moving.
Do you need three-phase power on site?
Not always. Most domestic builds run on single-phase output. For larger commercial volumes we bring our own 3-phase distribution.
